Iphone SDK is a Hush Hush

Programming on the Mac is a great experience, I think most developers will agree. Ask those developers that have worked with the Iphone SDK, they will say how wonderful the SDK is. With all the hype, glory, and releases in the Itunes App Store, there has built a ‘I like it except…’ clause in the community. The clause being that tutorials and books are not found online. Lots of questions have been asked, “How does multi touch work?”, “How do applications locate users?”, etc.

The answer is not to answer. Unfortunately no one can speak of the Iphone SDK and how to use it among the community. No books can be written regarding the SDK. No official tutorials can be found online. Developers have to sign and acknowledge a NDA that stops us from writing blogs, examples, and tutorials on how to build your first app. That being said, there are many brave souls that have ventured in making online tutorials, forums, and videos on this subject. I myself would love to have a section of my site dedicated to… well I can’t talk about it right now.

There are many developers that would love to see this NDA lifted. I myself am on the fence, I think Apple has their own motives on this subject and trust their intentions. There are many publishers out there waiting to push shiny green print button on their “Iphone SDK Developers Manual 1st Ed”. Some projected that Apple would life the NDA after it released from beta. This is not the case.

We will have to wait and see how this all pans out, at the moment I recommend signing up with the Iphone Developer Program and enjoy what Apple developer platform has to offer.
